And God Created Eve

Big Idea: Every girl, woman and mother is a special creation of God. She has a divine purpose with all the gifts and abilities necessary to fulfill her destiny.

Scripture:

In a wealthy home some utensils are made of gold and silver,

and some are made of wood and clay.

The expensive utensils are used for special occasions, and the cheap ones are for everyday use.

If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use.

Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work.  2 Timothy 2:20-21 NLT

Like a potter making pottery, God is the master potter

The process begins with worthless clay, but in the hands of the Master, on the wheel of life, he shapes it into a valuable vessel. Following the shaping of the clay as the Potter desires, it goes into the hot oven, is then painted and glazed, and goes back into the oven. Then it sits on the shelf until it is put to use for the Master’s purpose

And yet, O Lord, You are our Father.

We are the clay, and You are the potter.

We all are formed by Your hand.  Isaiah 64:8 NLT

In all our lives, there are points of brokenness, but the potter doesn’t give up on us

God loves to use broken people, often from difficult backgrounds, like Tamar, Ruth, Esther and Mary Magdalene, and remake them into someone who walks in divine destiny.

The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord:

“Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will let you hear my words.”

So I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was working at his wheel.

And the vessel he was making of clay was spoiled in the potter’s hand,

and he reworked it into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to do.  Jeremiah 18:1-4 ESV

Even more important than the vessel, is what is inside it

Think of a woman as a valuable china tea cup. As priceless as that cup may be, it’s the fragrant, deliciously brewed tea inside that will bring satisfaction and comfort to those who get to drink it.

Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear—  but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.  1 Peter 3:3-4 ESV
