Dear Church Family,
This 2020 year has been quite a surprise for all of us!
Thankfully, God is ultimately in control and he has a wonderful way of bringing good out of the most difficult situations.
In this short letter, I want to keep us all in the loop as to what our Northside Church response should be to the mandate from the Provincial Office of Dr. Bonnie Henry. As citizens of the Kingdom of God, we are subject to the laws of Canada.
Because of the increase of COVID-19 in this “second wave”, we have been asked to limit social interaction over these two weeks, at least until November 23. So as a Church, we are complying to the following guidelines from the Provincial Health Officer.
Socialize only with those in your core bubble.
No social gatherings of any size with anyone other than your core bubble. For example:
• Do not invite friends or extended family to your household
• Do not gather outdoors
• Do not have playdates for children
Funerals and weddings
Funerals and weddings may proceed with a limited number of people and a COVID safety plan in place.
• Associated funeral or wedding receptions at any location are not allowed, such as:
◦ Inside or outside homes
◦ Any public or community-based venues
• This includes events of fewer than 50 people
All Life Groups should be suspended for these two weeks
Restaurants, movie theatres and worship services
Restaurants, movie theatres and worship services can continue to operate as long as they have a COVID safety plan in place.
These plans include measures like physical distancing, small numbers of people per table or seats, cleaning protocols and mask wearing.
• You should only visit a restaurant with people in your core bubble
For us at Northside, our offices will remain open from Tuesday through Friday, but we will continue to follow the required health guidelines. Youth, Young Adults, Rock Fridays and Encounter will continue safely with masks being required, as we’ll continue with a maximum of 50 persons, hand sanitizing and contract tracing, but all other “in person” events should be discontinued.
We will refrain from distributing food and will require masks in ALL settings.
As for Sunday Services, we will continue to host those online Sunday mornings at 10am on our website, YouTube and Facebook, and you can catch up on those after they have “premiered” at 10am.
Love and blessings,
