Hi there! I’m Pastor Joel and I’m honoured to serve as the Lead Pastor at Northside. My wife Sonja and I have been happily married since 2005 and enjoy raising five children together. We live on a hobby farm that’s home to 80 animals. My greatest joy is to be a husband and a father to my family. I also love ministry, coffee, sports, laughter, and a good “one-liner.” I’m also affectionately known as the “farmer’s husband,” and I hope one day to reach “farmer” status. I grew up in New York, which comes out in my unique stories, and an occasional “fuhgeddaboudit.”

I received my BA from Trinity Western University in 2004 and went on to obtain master’s degree in Christian Ministries from Oral Roberts University. My vision is to see revival in and through the local church and to have a spirit-filled, spirit-formed, and spirit-led church that makes a positive impact in the community and around the world. Northside is a place where we experience a loving, presence-focused, faith-filled, and servant-hearted community every Sunday and throughout the week in our various ministries.
