The Next Ten Years at Northside Church

Barry Buzza February 16, 2020 Standalone

Big Idea: The primary purpose of every healthy living organism is to reproduce and multiply, so therefore God’s purpose for Northside Church is to reproduce ourselves and to multiply. And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion … Genesis 1:28 ESV

Our Call as a Church: He presented another parable to them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field; and this is smaller than all other seeds, but when it is full grown, it is larger than the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.” Matthew 13:31-32 NASB

I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit.
John 15:5, 8, & 2 NASB
And He began telling this parable: “A man had a fig tree which had been planted in his vineyard; and he came looking for fruit on it and did not find any. And he said to the vineyard-keeper, ‘Behold, for three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree without finding any. Cut it down! Why does it even use up the ground?’ And he answered and said to him, ‘Let it alone, sir, for this year too, until I dig around it and put in fertilizer; and if it bears fruit next year, fine; but if not, cut it down.'”
Luke 13:6-9 NASB
Definition of vision – The faculty or state of being able to see; the ability to think about or plan the future with spiritual insight, imagination and wisdom. Vision is the divine ability to see into the future and then to formulate plans to fulfill that vision.
Vision must be related to planning. A vision without a plan is only a dream

We need vision and plans for our marriage and family.
A child who gets his own way brings shame to his mother.
When the wicked increase, transgression increases;
But the righteous will see their fall.
Correct your son, and he will give you comfort;
He will also delight your soul.
Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained,
But happy is he who keeps the law. Proverbs 29:15-18 NASB

We need vision and plans for our spiritual maturing.
He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love, He predestined (pro-orizo) us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.
Ephesians 1:4c-6 NASB

We have vision and plans for Northside Church.
Then the Lord answered me and said, “Record the vision and inscribe it on tablets, That the one who reads it may run. “For the vision is yet for the appointed time; It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay.
Habakkuk 2:2-3 NASB

~ For the physical safety and spiritual growth of our children, we are planning to renovate all of our basement, shifting rooms to create more useful teaching space, upgrading washrooms, adding fresh airflow and a sprinkler system. We will also add nursery space for infants and nursing moms, in close proximity to our Sanctuary.

~ To promote healthy relationships as adults, as well as increased fruitfulness, we are planning to renovate and add space to our lobby, washrooms and reception area.
Parking Spaces will also be extended to accommodate anticipated growth.

~ To encourage missions, evangelism and community involvement, we foresee a coffee shop in our lobby. In our cafe, we plan on making space for our church family, neighbours, and hikers from the Coquitlam Crunch, to enjoy coffee and treats. Income will be designated to missions projects.

~ For unity and productivity of our Staff and workers, we are planning to add office space in the basement, for all volunteer leaders, as well as for pastors and staff, so we can work together in harmony as a ministry team.

~ We are planning to add a third story chapel/fellowship room, with an elevator, for 100+ people on the south end of our building. This room, with a view over Coquitlam, will accommodate all smaller venues, including Bible Studies, weddings, funerals, Sunday evening Prayer and services, ethnic gatherings, youth and young adult activities.

~ To extend our influence as an “Elder Church”, we want to be available as a Center, where we can host Conferences and Seminars on Worship and Music, Leadership, Missions, Bible, Family life and Business. We plan on adding a designated recording studio for preparing audio and visual recordings to use both, in house and also to extend our ministry to churches around the world.
~ To allow for numerical growth, we foresee additional Services, through the week, to give members an option of where to worship and to serve.

~ In obedience to our call to take the Gospel to the nations, we plan on expanding our giving to missionary outreach, so that continue to be a “Sending Church”, where young and mature will use their gifts in ministry outside the building, locally and around the world.

~ To prepare us for sending members into the “mission field”, we foresee a Bible School Micro Campus, in conjunction with PLBC, where our youth, as well as adults, can be prepared for purposeful ministry.
